as you may have seen in various previous posts, iโ€™ve become one of those weird people that runs ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™‚๏ธ

iโ€™ll be honest, i hate every second of it and started solely to justify eating more ben and jerryโ€™s ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป .. anyway, hereโ€™s a fact inspired by running ๐Ÿ˜ท

woke up really early this morning and then couldnโ€™t sleep. of course, this meant a rather long stint of youtube watching whilst waiting for starbucksโ€™oโ€™clock to swing around โ˜•๏ธ.

anyway, during this search, i found a new favourite youtube channel and it taught me something ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

#tdil thereโ€™s such a thing as a corneal transplant ๐Ÿ‘€. Continue reading “today i learned – weds 20th sept 2017”

now, what i actually learned today was a couple of things: firstly, my massive petrolhead uncle used to be a cyclist who deliberately rode uphill 😳 #umwhat. secondly, lots of many things about North Korea 🙃.

despite this, today’s fact isn’t either of the above 👍🏻 mainly because the first one probably won’t be useful in many pub quizzes and the second might end up with me being blown up by artillery or something #notideal 🔫

#tdil that it’s a myth that your entire body is replaced every 7-10 years 🤔 Continue reading “today i learned – mon 14th aug 2017”

admit it, last time you yawned, you tried to get as many people to join in as possible ๐Ÿ˜ go on … we all do it … if you donโ€™t, then you should! itโ€™s funny ๐Ÿ˜‚

that pretty much sets the tone for today! weโ€™re going all out yawn central up in this beast ๐Ÿ˜Ž

#tdil the reasons why scientists think we yawn and why yawns are contagious ๐Ÿ˜ฒ <- thatโ€™s as close as weโ€™re getting to a yawn emoji ๐Ÿ˜‚. Continue reading “today i learned – tues 8th aug 2017”

didn’t mean to learn this today … originally, i was looking for facts about sharks #sharkweek but i stumbled upon this and found it interesting! 🦈

it’s still relevant … because it’s still about animals … you just need to add land and remove all fins 🙈🐍

#tdil that cobras are actually deaf to ambient noises 😳 … bit embarrassing for all dem snake charmers 😅 Continue reading “today i learned – mon 24th july 2017”

due to a family partay that got somewhat out of hand, this post is late iโ€™m afraid ๐Ÿ™ƒ … meh, family is the one ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป gotta enjoy those family times.

anyhew, the fact that weโ€™re going for today is another animal fact! theyโ€™re literally the best ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

todayโ€™s fact is quite possibly going to debunk a myth that almost every child will have definitely heard whilst in the playground at school.

in fact, the thing that weโ€™re looking into today is something that actually terrified me during good ole hayfever season ๐Ÿ˜ณ

if you’ve been here before, then you’ll probably notice that the blog has had a bit of a spruce ๐Ÿ˜ฌ doesn’t it look epic?! ๐Ÿ˜ i think this theme makes a bit more sense … easier to navigate ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป let me know what you think!

anyway, getting straight into it today … need sleep. feel ill ๐Ÿ˜ท. (possibly because i used the word ‘lush’ today.

once upon a time, one of my fellow students raised their hand and asked our gcse science teacher – “sir, why do people grow old?” ๐Ÿ‘ด๐Ÿป (there wasn’t actually an emoji involved … they weren’t a thing back then).

the reply that sir gave was little more than “scientists don’t actually know … your cells always regenerate, so in theory you should live forever!” ๐Ÿค”. he wasn’t wrong back then … the clever dudes and dudettes in white lab coats had no idea. now, however, it turns out that they do ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿปโ€๐Ÿ”ฌ.

#tdil the reason why we grow old and why scientists can’t make us immortal ๐Ÿ‘ต๐Ÿป … prepare yourself people, this could be the most intellectual thing on the blog to date ๐Ÿค“.  Continue reading “today i learned – tues 13th june 2017”
