i’m currently in the process of moving house … so time is not something i have 🙈 as such, here’s a throwback!
#tdil japanese people are measured every year to check they aren’t fat 😳
it’s known as the ‘metabo law’ and it was adopted in 2008 by the ministry of health, labour and welfare to combat obesity 🙌🏻.
what it basically means is that men and women between the ages of 40 and 74 must have their waistline measured annually 😳 if their waistline is above the 33.5 inch limit for men or 35.4 inch limit for women, then they must face the consequences! 🙈
okay, so they aren’t really ‘consequences’ … if you’re over the limit, then you must seek medical assistance 👍🏻
it’s not that simple for businesses and local governments however 😅 you see, they must ensure that weight loss classes and the like to help employees to not be overweight 🙈
if they don’t meet specific targets then they can face some fairly horrid fines 😳 like, fines up to $19,000,000 😱
to be honest, except being an annual awkward invasion of personal space, it’s a pretty good idea 🤷🏻♂️ after all, japan is one of the thinnest countries on the planet!
laters 👍🏻 #tdil
