today i learned – thurs 14th mar 2019

this feels like one of the most important facts on this here blog ๐Ÿญ

#tdil the reason why lollipops have a random hole at the end of the stick (the one i mean is in the top piccy).

now, there are a couple of myths surrounding the mysterious hole that weโ€™re going to dispel first ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป.

firstly, some people think that the hole is there so that you donโ€™t choke if you swallow the stick #notideal. not true ๐Ÿ™ƒ to stop you dying, the entire stick is hollow … not just the end bit.

secondly, this one forever makes me sad, it isnโ€™t there (on most lollies … there are exceptions) to be used as a whistle โ˜น๏ธ. i was always under the impression that every lolly was an opportunity for me to be annoying … turns out that i was wrong (thereโ€™s no whistle emoji ๐Ÿ˜’).

so, the actual reason ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป … it turns out that the hole in the end of the stick is a super important part of the lollyโ€™s architecture – without it, your lolly would have no sweet ball on the end! ๐Ÿ™ˆ

the hole allows a small amount of the sweet to form inside the stick, subsequently holding the sweet to the end of the stick; without that super important hole, the sweet would simply slip off #awks.

and there we go! ๐Ÿ˜ฌ you can now successfully move on into adulthood with complete lolly based closure … youโ€™re welcome โœŒ๐Ÿป.
