today i learned – tues 22nd jan 2019

i guess this is one of those “be careful what you eat” kinds of facts 😏

#tdil that the ‘100% orange juice’ you buy from the shop probably isn’t actually even flavoured by real oranges 😅

bit awks that 🙈 like, we buy orange juice made from 100% real oranges to be all healthy and it’s actually flavoured by ‘flavour packs’ and not actual fruit! 🍊

now, you’d imagine that making orange juice is pretty darn simple – get an orange, squeeze said orange, enjoy subsequent juice 🙌🏻

unfortunately, you can’t guarantee consistent quality using this method … so y’all fave orange juice makers have a rather more complicated (less real orange based) procedure 🙄

instead of that three-stage procedure, they have their own – squeeze orange, remove oxygen to extend the juice’s life (but subsequently remove the flavour), re-flavour with artificial orange flavour goodness 😅

this method ensures that every glass of tropicana or minute maid should (in theory) taste the exact same … and can be stored by the company for up to a year 👍🏻

now, you may be wondering why you don’t see this ‘orange flavour pack’ goodness listed in the ingredients 🙄 well, technically the flavour pack is made from “orange essence and oil” … so it isn’t listed all that clearly #orangeconspiracylife

on a plus note, the flavour packs are often made by the same flavour and fragrance companies that created perfumes like dior 🤷🏻‍♂️ so you’re basically getting super posh perfume to drink 😎

i think the moral of the story is probs squeeze your own, find a farm shop, accept that existence is a simulation ran by elon musk or just accept that fake juice is darn tasty and not real 🙈

peace out! ✌🏻 #tdil

_______

it’s all a conspiracy! they’re feeding us fake orange juice that controls our brains! 😂 #jokes … now, go forth and read more goodness ->here<-
