back to japan news again πŸ˜‚ obsession has set in πŸ™ˆ

#tdil japanese people are measured every year to check they aren’t fat 😳

it’s known as the ‘metabo law’ and it was adopted in 2008 by the ministry of health, labour and welfare to combat obesity πŸ™ŒπŸ».

what it basically means is that men and women between the ages of 40 and 74 must have their waistline measured annually 😳 if their waistline is above the 33.5 inch limit for men or 35.4 inch limit for women, then they must face the consequences! πŸ™ˆ

okay, so they aren’t really ‘consequences’ … if you’re over the limit, then you must seek medical assistance πŸ‘πŸ»

it’s not that simple for businesses and local governments however πŸ˜… you see, they must ensure that weight loss classes and the like to help employees to not be overweight πŸ™ˆ

if they don’t meet specific targets then they can face some fairly horrid fines 😳 like, fines up to $19,000,000 😱

to be honest, except being an annual awkward invasion of personal space, it’s a pretty good idea πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ after all, japan is one of the thinnest countries on the planet!
