today i learned – mon 15th oct 2018

for people like me, that are a bit obsessed with cars and cool stuff, this is pretty sad news 😢

#tdil the (possibly) 1000mph+ bloodhound ssc project has gone into administration 😭

for those that don’t know, bloodhound ssc was a project that aimed to set a new land speed record of 1000mph or more 😱 it was founded in 2007 and is being ran by previous record setter, richard noble, and current record holder, andy green.

sadly however, since their 200mph test run at newquay airport last year, the team have said that they’re running out of money 😢 which means they can’t use the car for the fast runs that it was designed for 😕

peeps inside the team have told autocar that the project would require £15million to even attempt 800mph to break the current land speed record and £25million to go for that epic 1000mph run 💰

basically, driving a jet car super fast is hella expensive … it literally sounds like money leaves your pocket as quickly as the car accelerates 🙈

that said, the team have insisted that this is by no means the end of the road 😏 you see, the team taking to helm whilst bloodhound ssc is in administration is the same team that sorted out that recent insane rescue of force india f1 🏎

so, it’s not all doom and gloom just yet 😁 the team have said that they’re hoping to be in this situation for 4-6 weeks and then have money flowing again 🙌🏻

i really hope so 😁 it’d be insane to see something made in britain break 1000mph on land 😱

laters 😘 #tdil
