today i learned – thurs 4th oct 2018

thanks to snapchat and the youths of today, it seems that everyone loves a good selfie … so much that some people will literally risk their lives! 😳

#tdil over 200 people have died whilst trying to take the perfect selfie 📱

(before we start, here’s a quick note 😅 … i’ve just got a new ios beta with a load of new emojis … hopefully everything appears but, if not, that’s why 👍🏻)

so yeah, in a new global study that looked at deaths between 2011 and 2017, it turned out that “the quest for extreme selfies” has taken 259 lives!! 😱

according to the report, many of the deaths occurred when people were up high buildings, on mountains and in lakes … but you can imagine that there’s probably a few road crossing selfies etc in there too 😢

it’s so bad that, due to the report, some people are now calling for dangerous spots to be branded as ‘no selfie zones’ where you aren’t allowed to take selfies 🙅🏻‍♂️

apparently, the report showed that the most people that die from selfies are in india, russia, the usa and pakistan … and that over 70% of the peeps in the report are dudes 😳

i think that the best thing to take away from this is that selfies are not an extreme sport and you should probs be careful 😅 like, the number of selfie deaths that happen is on the rise 😐

stay safe kids 😘 #tdil
