today i learned – sat 28th july 2018

i’ll be honest, this one might not be true … but i want it to be … so it’s going on the blog πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

#tdil (kinda) that elephants think humans are cute, in the same way that we find kittens cute 😱

this one was actually brought to my attention by my lovely girlfriend and i couldn’t help but look into it! 😍 i want soo much for this to be true … because it’s just too cute! 😁

the story goes that, when elephants see humans and humans see kittens, the same part of their brain lights up with activity 🧠 apparently, that’s the same part that monitors cuteness 🐘

now, this is where it all goes down hill 😒 (if you want to pretend it’s 100% totes true, stop reading now!), it turns out that this ‘fact’ was first posed in a tweet after some good ole internet research πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

much like most stuff that goes viral, it was never supposed to be something that got out there wildly πŸ˜… but, somehow, it did manage to get everywhere πŸ™ˆ

whilst this is certainly good for the individual’s follower count (fame she actually didn’t want … i read an interview with her), it does mean that this probably isn’t true 😐

that said! there is a chance that there is some truth to it! πŸ™ŒπŸ» you see, scientists are really confused by the whole human-elephant relationship that happens in countries that domesticate elephants 🐘

studies have shown that they’re incredibly easy to tame and they willingly interact with humans (even making the first move!) πŸ€”

now, i don’t condone the taking of elephants for rides and shizz like that, but their friendliness does seem to suggest that they might actually find us cute! 😁 (maybe i’m just clutching at straws πŸ˜‚)

what are your thoughts on this? maybe you should let me know in the comments! 😘😁

byeee! πŸ‘πŸ» #tdil

so, this is kinda a fact πŸ€” do you want to read an actual fact? just have a look ->here<-
