today i learned – fri 11th may 2018

today’s fact is 100% job based … and will probably only be interesting to other bloggers and digital marketers!

either way, the geek in me found it interesting! 🤓

#tdil email notifications are not an industry standard when it comes to social media monitoring platforms 🤯

genuinely, this one has blown my little mind … not in a good way 🙄 (i’m going to try to make this post not moan 😂)

what i mean by ’email notifications’ is basically what the native social platforms give you – notification via email that someone has commented on your content/mentioned you/etc on facebook and twitter (mainly).

as a social media marketer and blogger, it blows my mind that this isn’t something that is standard across the industry! even hootsuite aren’t doing it?! (from what i can see 🙈)

it may just be me, but i don’t have time to be constantly staring at a platform throughout the day … especially on content days when i’m out and about making videos and shizz 😕 meaning that those notifications are super important 😅

now, to save you some hassle, i’ve done no end of product demos and trials recently and have found that the following do offer notifications #yourewelcome –

  • crowdcontrol
  • falcon.io

yep, of seven platforms that i looked into, only two offer it (at the moment … it’s ‘on the roadmap’ of a few others).

i’ll be honest, there may be more out there that do offer it … if there is, please please please drop me a comment below 😁

but yeah, it just blows my mind that it’s not the industry standard!? maybe it’s just me? 🤷🏻‍♂️

anyway! hopefully this helps someone somewhere with their social media needs 😘

peace ✌🏻 #tdil
