today i learned – tues 17th apr 2018

i’m writing this whilst walking the dogs 🐢 you didn’t need to know that, i’m just really impressed by my multitasking 😏

anyway, today’s fact is about healthy eating … so walking is deffo relevant πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

#tdil mcdonalds once made bubblegum flavoured broccoli πŸ₯¦

how darn willy wonka is this fact though?! πŸ˜‚ like, who’d have thought broccoli that tasted of bubblegum was a thing πŸ™ˆ

why was it a thing? well, it was actually an uncharacteristic attempt at making the world’s kiddies eat better! πŸ‘ΆπŸ» … on the face of it, not a horrendous idea to be honest.

that said, just how healthy can veg designed to taste like bubblegum actually be? i mean, i can’t help but imagine it was probably worse than actually bad food! πŸ™ˆ

sadly, the charlie and the chocolate factory type plan failed when the bubblegum goodness was tested with real kids … they were not keen πŸ˜‚ … many of them said it confused them πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

after a host of far from glowing focus group reviews, mcdonalds decided to scrap their fantastically ridiculous idea 😒 instead focusing on actual good ideas like offering sides of fruit and reducing the number of fries in happy meals 🍟

but yeah, there’s the tale of the mental bubblegum broccoli that almost was! i really wish i could have tasted it in all its artificial glory πŸ™ŒπŸ»

bye peeps 😘 #tdil
