today i learned – tues 13th feb 2018

exciting news everybody! 😁 this silly little blog filled with ridiculous facts is an entire year old today!! πŸ˜πŸŽ‚

anyway, more on that later, it’s also pancake day … we have facts to learn! πŸ₯ž

#tdil that the biggest pancake ever created and flipped was a whopping 15.01 meters in diameter! 😱

that’s one huge pancake πŸ₯ž … not only was it 15m in diameter, it also weighed a hefty three tonnes and was one inch thick (i feel like the diameter to thickness ratio is totally out πŸ˜…)

anyhew, the record setting pancake was made in rochdale, manchester πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ in 1994 by ‘the co-operative union, ltd’ πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ … i’m not sure who they are either πŸ™ƒ

more than just creating a giant pancake, the dudes and dudettes of the co-operative union managed to flip the monstrosity 😱. i can only imagine the stress that occurred during that manoeuvre πŸ˜‚

i can’t find a video or many images of this but it looks like the mad flip was accomplished thanks to a good number of cranes and, i assume, a lot of co-ordination πŸ€“

365 posts after the very first post on this blog and the facts are still totally pointless πŸ˜‚ to be fair, there’s only so much you can learn about pancakes πŸ’πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

anyway, talking of 365 posts … today is the blog’s first birthday! 😁 how darn mental is that!? πŸ™ˆ like, every single day for the last year, a pointless ridiculous fact has appeared on this here blog!

as such, i just want to take a moment to thank y’all for the support πŸ‘πŸ» to see that people read and enjoy these mental facts (and sometimes leave a cheeky like) is truly heart warming and i love you all muchly β™₯️

i’ll be honest, getting daily posts up has been a mission at times … but we got here nonetheless! here’s to another year πŸ˜πŸŽ‚

thank you again shiny happy people 😍

much love! 😘😘
