today i learned – weds 31st jan 2018

as if jan is over 😳 like, if every month goes this fast, 2018 is going to pass in literally five minutes 🙈

anyway! for today’s fact, we’re doing a slight bit of adulting 👍🏻 well … kinda 😅

#tdil that the pesky mot test is changing in may 😕

to be honest, this isn’t massive news unless you own a diesel … if you own a diesel, then you could be in for a bad time because the test has got stricter 🙈

basically, the emissions test now only allows a lower level of fumage and any diesel with a ‘diesel particulate filter’ (dpf) that produces smoke of any colour will automagically fail the test 😳

mot testers also have to inspect the dpf canister and refuse to test any car that looks like it has been messed with 🙈 … the only exception being if the driver has a legit excuse 😅

for those of you that don’t have a diesel, the only bit that affects you is the new failure categories that they’ve introduced 👍🏻 like your driving test, defects now get a rating – minor, major or dangerous.

minor is basically the same as an advisory 🤷🏻‍♂️ you’ll still pass but it’s noted down 🙄. major and dangerous are both failures 😅 the difference between the two is that if a car has a ‘dangerous fault’ it isn’t allowed to leave the test centre #awks

pretty quick and fairly boring one today 🙈 that said, it is arguably more useful than almost every other post on here 😂

go forth and mot!

laters 😘 #tdil
