it’s christmasssssssssssssssssssssssssss 🎅🏻🎅🏻 (sing that and it’ll have more effect 👍🏻)
well, it is if you don’t live in russia 😅 people of the world, rejoice at our 25th dec christmas 🙌🏻
#tdil that orthodox christians in russia celebrate christmas on the 7th january 😢
just think, if you lived in russia you’d have to wait an actual age for christmas day to come about 😭
well, kinda 😅 i’ve kind of picked on russia a little bit … orthodox christians across the world tend to celebrate christmas on the 7th jan.
the reason for the difference pretty much comes down to a difference in calendars 👍🏻. you see, orthodox churches use the julian calendar that was created by caesar in 45bc.
whereas other churches adopt the gregorian calendar that came about in rome in 1582 … that one was created by pope gregory 🙂
in 1923, an update was released for the julian calendar that aligned christmas in both calendars … but only some of the orthodox churches took on julian calendar 2.0.
and that’s that! you’re now cleverer than you were (and you’re possibly even happier that it’s christmas day … in fact, if you’re clever, you should now swap to the orthodox calendar as well 😏 christmas pt2 anyone? 😜)
right, have a sick day people 😁 merry christmas!!!! 🎅🏻
peace ✌🏻 #tdil
