today i learned – weds 15th nov 2017

after yesterday’s fact about singapore, we’re remaining in the far east 😬 this time, however, we’re heading to my favourite country – japan πŸ‡―πŸ‡΅

(this is a fact about japan … expect a bit of madness, a splash of crazy and a sploosh of weird πŸ‘πŸ» … strap in people)

#tdil there is a village in japan that has been almost taken over by dolls 😳 (i did warn you about the sploosh of weird πŸ˜…).

the village is called nagoro and it is situated in the valleys of shikoku. sadly, due to its mad isolated location, it’s kind of a cursed town πŸ˜•

you see, there’s literally nothing in nagoro … meaning that, as people leave (either to move into the city or through death 😒) there’s no one to fill their space – there aren’t exactly people lining up to live in the actual middle of nowhere πŸ™ƒ. for that reason, the village is slowly becoming deserted 😒

ayano tsukimi didn’t like this fact when she returned to her home in nagoro 11 years ago. her solution? replace all of those who have left/died with giant dolls! 350 of them to be precise 😳

as cute as it sounds … the pictures are pretty creepy πŸ˜… like, there’s no way i’m spending a night there πŸ™ƒ. think of this – there’s even a school filled entirely with children and teachers that are dolls! 😭 they just sit there silently … generally being creepy.

feel like you need some proof? here’s a video about it πŸ‘πŸ»

as creepy as the dolls might be, i can’t help but feel for ayano – it must be mad lonely ☹️ whilst she is married, her husband and daughter live away in osaka. ayano lives alone with her 83 year old father and a village filled with dolls πŸ˜•

that’s pretty much all i have to say πŸ™ˆ providing the video worked, it probably explained everything better that i can πŸ˜… … visual media is the future peeps πŸ€™πŸ»

right, i’m out

laterz πŸ‘ŒπŸ» #tdil

that was a pretty weird but interesting fact today πŸ™‚ if you feel like you want some more goodness, just go ->here<-

(now, images for this one we’re really difficult 😭 so, i’ve borrowed some from a dude called fritz schumann (his website is ->here<-) . fritz is the dude who made that video and took all of those awesome (creepy) photos … hopefully this counts as enough of a credit to not get sued πŸ™ƒ)
